University brief for the Royal Opera House's Kabuki Theatre VIP Gift.
Gift Packaging Design and Limited Edition Art Pieces Direction:
Having based my design research on the art of Kabuki, as well as an in-person visit to the Minamiza Kabuki Theatre in Kyoto, the project became more informed and meaningful. My chosen approach was to include hand painted illustrations with an interactive element integrated. I illustrated each art piece using paint or ink mediums and hand finished them with gold foil accents.
Recipients are gifted with hand illustrated art pieces that have hidden surprise elements when viewed through the Augmented Reality app. The concept was to include an exciting interactive element to the packaging design brief.
